General Information 基本概況

In the course of over half a century's development，Liaoning University has
grown into a multiple-discipline comprehensive university，embracing Chinese
language and literature，history，philosophy，economics，law，foreign
languages，art，natural science，engineering and management. It is one of the state
key“Project 211”universities.

經(jīng)過半個多世紀的艱苦努力，遼寧大學已經(jīng)成為一所具備文、史、哲、經(jīng)、法、外、藝、理、工、管等多學科的遼寧省唯一的綜合性大學，是國家“211工程”重點建設(shè)的院校之一。

One of its predecessors is Shenyang Commercial College set up by the People's
Government of the Northeast in November.1948. The September of 1958 saw the
amalgamation of the Northeast Institute of Finance and Economics，Shenyang Normal
College and Shenyang Institute of Russian，which led to the birth of Liaoning
University. Marshal Zhu De wrote an inscription of the school name for the
University.

遼寧大學發(fā)端于1948年11月東北人民政府在沈陽建立的商業(yè)專門學校，建校之初即招收四年制本科生。1958年9月15日，東北財經(jīng)學院、沈陽師范學院和沈陽俄文?？茖W校合并，組建成遼寧大學，朱德同志親筆題寫了校名。

The University is situated in Shenyang City，the capital of Liaoning
Province，and at present it has an area of 143 hectares，i.e. 1 420 000 square
meters(including the University proper, Liaoyang Foreign Languages College and
the Xinchengzi Campus)，with a building area totaling 615 000 square meters.

遼寧大學位于遼寧省會沈陽市，學校目前有三個校區(qū)，即沈陽崇山校區(qū)、沈陽道義校區(qū)和遼陽武圣校區(qū)，教學區(qū)占地面積143公頃，建筑面積61.5萬平方米。

The University has 18 colleges，and has 62 undergraduate disciplines，110
master-degree-granting disciplines，including MBA，MPA and JM. The University is
also invested with authority to grant 3 doctorates of theoretical
economics，applied economics，business administration in the first level
disciplines and 33 doctorates in the second level disciplines. Furthermore，the
University has 3 mobile stations for post-doctoral studies to its credit, with 2
national key disciplines of world economy and national economy in addition to a
base for cultivating personnel of basic national economy，and a key base for
research on humanities，and a center of research on the system of comparative
economy as designated by the Ministry of Education. The University has 11
province-level key disciplines，5 province-level key bases of scientific research
and 2 province-level key laboratories.

學校設(shè)有18個學院，有62個本科專業(yè);110個學科具有碩士學位授予權(quán)，并設(shè)有MBA(工商管理碩士)、MPA(公共管理碩士)和JM(法律碩士)專業(yè)學位點;包括理論經(jīng)濟學、應(yīng)用經(jīng)濟學和工商管理三個一級學科博士學位授權(quán)點在內(nèi)，有33個二級學科博士學位授權(quán)點，有3個博士后流動站;設(shè)有世界經(jīng)濟和國民經(jīng)濟學兩個國家級重點學科;設(shè)有國家經(jīng)濟學基礎(chǔ)人才培養(yǎng)基地和教育部人文社會科學重點研究基地—比較經(jīng)濟體制研究中心。學校有11個省級重點學科、5個省級重點科研基地、2個省級重點實驗室。

At present，Liaoning University has a teaching body of 1 170 fulltime faculty
members，among whom there are 181 professors，417 associate professors，52
doctorate supervisors，1 special professors of“Cheungkong Scholars Program"，88
recipients of special subsidies from the State Council，4 teachers selected by
national“Millions of Talents Program”，2 teachers awarded the }}onor of“State
Outstanding College Lecturers"，1 State Model Lecturer，1 State Excellent
Lecturer，1 middle-agg expert with outstanding contributions at the national
level and 1 awarded the honor of Young Lecturer of High Learning by the Ministry
of Education.

The University has a total of nearly 25 000 students of different kinds，including nearly 20 000 undergraduate students，nearly 3 500 graduate students，500 foreign students and!000 students of other kinds.

目前，學校有在校學生近25 000人，其中本科生近20 000人，研究生近3 500人，外國留學生500人，其他各類學生1 000人。

The University's library with its 42 000 square meter building area，equipped
with modern advanced facilities，is stocked with over 2. 34 million volumes，including over 300 kinds of rare and treasured books，which are affirmed
by the United Nation as the exclusive possessions of the University's library.
The University also has a history museum and a museum of natural history. They
have a collection of over two thousand pieces of art treasures and eleven
thousand pieces of biologicalspecimens respectively.Confronted with
opportunities and challenges of the new century，Liaoning University is
accelerating its reform，innovation and development.Now with the strengthening of
disciplines as its propelling force，teaching and research as its dominant
attention，the building up of teaching and managing staff as its foundation，the
improvement of campus environment as its supporting condition，reform as its
motive power，the intensification of administration work as its means of
achieving its goal，and last but not least，trengthening Party-building and
ideological and political work as its bulwark，the University will double its
effort to build itself into a teaching-and-research type university at a fairly
high academic level and with certain international influence in ten years.

學校圖書館總面積達4.2萬平方米，館藏文獻234萬冊，其中珍本、善本書300余種，已被聯(lián)合國出版署指定為聯(lián)合國文獻收藏圖書館。學校設(shè)有歷史博物館、自然博物館，珍藏2000余件文物和1.1萬多種生物標本。校園網(wǎng)是中國教育和科研網(wǎng)的組成部分，已成為沈陽北部大學區(qū)域節(jié)點。邁人新世紀，遼寧大學將秉承明德精學、篤行致強的校訓精神，力爭經(jīng)過十年的建設(shè)和發(fā)展，把遼寧大學建設(shè)成為具有較高水平和具有較大國際影響的教學一研究型大學。

Glorious History 歷史變遷

1948 The predecessor Shenyang Commerical College was set up.

1948年遼寧大學的前身商業(yè)專門學校在沈陽建立。

1958 The Northeast Institute of Finance and Economics，Shenyang Normal College
and Shenyang Institute of Russian merged to form Liaoning University.
