A: it’s so great to be here! I’m so excited to help you and my daughter with your new home!
 
來(lái)這兒真是不錯(cuò)！我很高興能幫你和我女兒收拾新房。
 
B: we’re glad that you’re here. Would you like a tour of the house?
 
我們很高興你能來(lái)。想不想?yún)⒂^下我們的房子？
 
A: that’d be great, but could I have a cup of tea first?
 
太好了。我能不能先喝杯茶？
 
B: sure, I’ll just go put the kettle on. Why don’t you have a seat on the sofa and I’ll go take care of things in the kitchen.
 
當(dāng)然可以，我去把水壺的開(kāi)關(guān)打開(kāi)。你現(xiàn)在沙發(fā)上坐一會(huì)兒，我到廚房準(zhǔn)備準(zhǔn)備。
 
A: that would be lovely, thanks.
 
那可太好了，謝謝。
 
B: do you take milk or suger with your tea?
 
茶里以后放糖還是奶。
 
A: I’ll take a little milk, but no suger, please. Make sure you let the tea steep a few minutes before you take the tea bag out of the cup.
 
請(qǐng)給我加一點(diǎn)牛奶，但是不放糖。茶包多沏一會(huì)兒再拿出來(lái)。
 
B: ok. What do you think about our living room?
 
好的。你覺(jué)得我們的客廳怎么樣？
 
A: well, I do like the mantelpiece and the coffee table, but I don’t really care for curtains. Did you get them at a yard sale? They look ancient.
 
嗯，我很喜歡壁爐和咖啡桌，但是我覺(jué)得窗簾可不怎么樣，你們是在大甩賣(mài)的時(shí)候買(mǎi)的嗎？看起來(lái)很舊了。
 
B: my parents gave them to us as a house warming gift.
 
那是我父母送我們的新居禮物。
 
A: oh dear. Well, I suppose they will do for now. do you ever dust in here? It seems a bit dusty in here.
 
我的天。其實(shí)，我覺(jué)得挺不錯(cuò)。你們打掃過(guò)這里嗎？這兒看起來(lái)有點(diǎn)臟。
 
B: your daughter usually does the dusting, and I do the vacuuming.
 
一般是你女兒掃掉塵土，我來(lái)用吸塵器吸塵。
 
A: I see. Well, I can help with the chores while I’m here. You two could probably use my help.
 
我知道了。我在這兒的時(shí)候可以幫你們做點(diǎn)雜物。讓我?guī)兔Ω墒裁?，你們盡管跟我說(shuō)。
 
B: that’s very nice of you to offer. Here’s your tea. Be careful, it’s still quite hot.
