“Just perfect,” said Hank sarcastically as he eyed the gas tank. It was almost empty. “We’re nearly out of time, kid. Where do we go now?”
“Uh ... I don’t see anything,” said Dory, trying to figure out how to find the ocean.
SPLAT! Dory gasped as a white liquid splattered on the windshield. A flock of seagulls flew overhead! They continued along, flying across the horizon to the left, screeching, “Mine! Mine! Mine!”
Dory gasped. “Seagulls .... The ocean’s left, Hank!”
Hank pulled left and they drove up a steep hill. When they got to the top, they could see it! “The ocean!” shouted Dory. “It’s straight ahead. Floor it!” Then Dory noticed police cars blocking their way. “Uh-oh.”
“What do you mean, uh-oh?” asked Hank.
Dory looked around, figuring out their next move. Then she gasped. “Hank! I’m going to ask you to do something crazy.”
Hank smiled. “I’m okay with crazy.”
Bailey gave everyone the news. “OooOoooo — There’s no way out! It’s over! They’re going to fish jail!” Then his expression changed. “OoooO — Wait ... OOooOO — Oh, no ... OOOooo, GET BACK!” He screamed and pushed everyone out of the way. “INCOMING!”
They heard the deep sound of a blaring horn from above and looked up to see the truck hanging off the side of a rocky cliff. Then it dove off and fell straight toward the ocean!
As the truck tumbled through the air, the fish inside screamed, cheered, and laughed as their tanks slid out the open back door. Becky fell out and happily squawked as she sailed through the air inside the green pail.
From their rock, Fluke and Rudder looked up, amazed, as the fish rained down. They opened their mouths wide, waiting for something tasty to fall in. While they were distracted, Gerald crept up between them and shoved them off the rock. He sat triumphantly and caught the pail holding Becky with his mouth.
When Dory and Hank finally fell out of the truck, they could hear Sigourney Weaver’s voice: “What lies before you represents the third and final part of the Marine Life Mission: rescue, rehabilitation, and release.” They shared a smile as they continued to descend toward Dory’s families waiting below.
“Come to papa!” shouted Charlie.
They finally plunged into the ocean water as a victorious explosion of bubbles rose up around them.
