1. get a load of: <美俚>仔細地看[聽]； 打量； 估計

Here comes Hal. Get a load of his new suit!（哈爾來了，請?zhí)貏e注意看他穿的新衣服！）

2. dreamy: 夢幻般的；夢想的

dreamy也可以表示恍惚的，出神的，例如：His face assumed a sort of dreamy expression.（他臉上現(xiàn)出一種恍惚的表情。）

3. Southern money: 這里指朗恩來自南方的富裕家庭。

4. dawn on: 逐漸(被人)知曉； 明白

It gradually dawned upon me that I still had talent and ought to run again.（我漸漸明白了自己還有才能，應該再次參加競選。）

5. end up with: 以……告終

His efforts end up with failure.（他的努力以失敗而告終。）
