  愛情是人類永恒的主題,也是熒屏上不可或缺的主題。每個(gè)年代的愛情電影有著每個(gè)年代的特點(diǎn),但它們折射出的卻都是人性中最純潔、最動(dòng)人、最美好的一面。下面就來品味20世紀(jì)50年代到90年代的幾部經(jīng)典愛情電影,再次為人類這純真美好的感情而感動(dòng)吧。

20世紀(jì)50年代

--代表作:《羅馬假日》(Roman Holiday)(1953年)

  上世紀(jì)40年代是個(gè)灰暗的戰(zhàn)爭時(shí)代。第二次世界大戰(zhàn)讓整個(gè)世界為之哭泣顫抖,戰(zhàn)爭的陰影也侵入了電影創(chuàng)作。那個(gè)時(shí)代的電影,即使是愛情片也是沉重的,其中有多部描述因戰(zhàn)爭而愛情破裂的電影。而50年代初出品的《羅馬假日》則將這一片沉重化為烏有,迎來了浪漫愛情電影的新時(shí)代。

  《羅馬假日》劇情簡單:公主安娜(奧黛麗·赫本飾)出訪羅馬,繁瑣的宮廷禮節(jié)讓她厭倦,于是她晚上偷偷逃出宮殿,被窮記者喬(格里高利·派克飾)帶回住所。喬得知安娜是公主后,佯裝不知道安娜的身份,陪她游覽羅馬,打算寫篇獨(dú)家報(bào)道來賺一筆錢。隨著劇情發(fā)展,兩人逐漸有了感情,然而雙方身份懸殊,公主選擇回到皇室。在最后的記者招待會(huì)上,他們語帶雙關(guān)地依依惜別。喬拋棄掙錢的初衷,將偷拍的照片送還公主。

  赫本天使般的眼神與巴洛克、洛可可風(fēng)格的古羅馬建筑相映生輝,使《羅馬假日》成為愛情電影史上永恒的經(jīng)典。該片是少數(shù)幾部被禁止以工藝加上彩色的黑白影片之一,因?yàn)槟欠萦篮愕拿啦粫?huì)褪色,不容更改......

  經(jīng)典場景

  國王派出的便衣在水上舞廳要強(qiáng)行帶走公主,喬和公主與之廝打,喬被推下水,公主毫不猶豫地緊接著跳下水。經(jīng)此事件,他們發(fā)現(xiàn)了自己對對方的愛,接著兩人回到喬的小屋。

  Anna: Shall I cook something?

  Joe: No kitchen. Nothing to cook. I always eat out.

  Anna: Do you like that?

  Joe: Well, life isn't always what one likes, is it?〔5〕

  Anna: No, it isn't.

  Joe: Tired?

  Anna: A little.

  Joe: You've had quite a day.

  Anna: No, a wonderful day.

  [廣播里播出關(guān)于公主的消息,安娜上前把廣播關(guān)掉。]

  Anna: The news can wait tomorrow.

  Joe: Yes.

  Anna: May I have a little more wine? Sorry I couldn't cook us some dinner.

  Joe: Did you learn how at school?

  Anna: I am a good cook. I could earn my living at it. I can sew too, clean a house, and iron. I have learned to do all those things. I just haven't had the chance to do it for anyone.

  Joe: Well, looks like I shall have to move and get a place with a kitchen.

  Anna: Yes.

  [公主低下頭,默默地喝了口酒,似乎在痛下決心。]

  Anna: I ... I have to go now.

  Joe: Anna, there's something that I want to tell you.

  Anna: No, please. Nothing. I must go and get dressed.

20世紀(jì)60年代

--代表作:《羅密歐與朱麗葉》(Romeo & Juliet) (1968年)

  60年代是個(gè)性化的時(shí)代,整個(gè)電影界的價(jià)值觀也發(fā)生轉(zhuǎn)變。許多個(gè)性極強(qiáng)的新導(dǎo)演涌現(xiàn),他們大膽起用新人,電影風(fēng)格也與傳統(tǒng)不同。即使故事情節(jié)傳統(tǒng),但其拍攝、語言也力求創(chuàng)新。這個(gè)時(shí)代愛情片的特征就是:個(gè)性化,沖破傳統(tǒng),不再依賴明星。其代表作就是由年僅15歲和16歲,名不見經(jīng)傳的男、女演員擔(dān)當(dāng)主角的《羅密歐與朱麗葉》。

  這是莎士比亞的經(jīng)典劇本。羅密歐與朱麗葉來自兩個(gè)世仇家庭。兩人一見傾心,但只能偷偷約會(huì)。在一次挑釁中,羅密歐失手殺死了朱麗葉的表哥,被判放逐。在神父的幫助下,他見到了朱麗葉,兩人私定終身。神父給朱麗葉一種藥,喝下后可以裝死,這樣可以讓羅密歐偷偷把她帶走。朱麗葉喝下藥,然而羅密歐卻不知真相,在通知他的人到來前就自殺了。醒來的朱麗葉發(fā)現(xiàn)死去的羅密歐,悲痛萬分,不愿獨(dú)活而選擇了自殺。

  經(jīng)典場景

  羅密歐混進(jìn)了朱麗葉家舉辦的舞會(huì),看到了一個(gè)一身白衣的女孩。他并不知道這個(gè)純情的美麗女子就是朱麗葉,只知道自己已深深地愛上她。

  特別說明:《羅密歐與朱麗葉》里的臺(tái)詞很多不符合我們當(dāng)代英語的語法,大家且把它當(dāng)作古英文去欣賞好了。莎士比亞的這段臺(tái)詞有很多精妙之處。羅密歐與朱麗葉更像是在玩文字游戲,表面講的是圣徒禱告,實(shí)際是兩人在"爭論"能不能接吻。

  Romeo: [獨(dú)白] O, she doth (即does) teach the torches to burn bright! It seems she hangs upon the check of night as a rich jewel in an Ethiop's (阿比西尼亞人) ear. Beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear.

  [跳面具舞〔6〕的音樂響起。羅密歐跳到了朱麗葉身邊,兩人跳起了別樣風(fēng)情的面具舞。]

  Romeo: If I profane (褻瀆) with my unworthiest hand this holy shrine (神殿), the gentle sin is this. My lips, two blessing pilgrims (圣地朝拜者) ready stand to smooth that rough touch with the tender kiss.

  Juliet: Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hand too much which mannerly devotion shows in this. For saints (圣人) have hands that pilgrims's hands do touch. And palm (手掌) to palm is holy palmers's kiss.

  Romeo: Have not saints' lips and holy palmers too?

  Juliet: Ay, pilgrims, lips that they must use in prayer.

  Romeo: O, then, dear saint, let lips do what hands do! They pray: great thou (即you), lest (唯恐) faith turn to despair.

  [朱麗葉被母親叫了過去。她回來時(shí),因?yàn)闆]找到羅密歐而著急。]

  Juliet: Where has he gone? Where for? Go, ask his name. If he be married, my grave is like to be my wedding bed.

  Maid: His name is Romeo, and a Montague. The only son of your great enemy.

  Juliet: My only love sprung from my only hate.

  [羅密歐也得知,自己一見傾心的女孩居然是仇家的獨(dú)女朱麗葉,他很痛苦。]

  Romeo: My life is my foe's debt.

20世紀(jì)70年代

--代表作:《愛情故事》(Love Story) (1970年)

  70年代,越戰(zhàn)剛結(jié)束,世界的動(dòng)蕩不安能在電影中找到印證:恐慌型、怪誕型的電影在當(dāng)時(shí)比較流行。唯美的愛情電影并不多,然而也不乏佳作。這個(gè)時(shí)期愛情電影代表作《愛情故事》就打破了當(dāng)時(shí)美國電影史的票房記錄。由于70年代女權(quán)運(yùn)動(dòng)高漲,電影中的女主人公不再是只要求外表美麗,更多是傾向于要求其具有獨(dú)立、智慧和才華的特質(zhì)?!稅矍楣适隆防锏呐魅斯褪且粋€(gè)相貌平平、貧窮的女孩,但是她聰明、堅(jiān)強(qiáng)、獨(dú)立。

  故事發(fā)生在哈佛校園。富家子弟奧利弗和面包師的女兒珍妮在校園圖書館邂逅并一見鐘情。他們地位懸殊,卻真誠相愛。奧利弗不顧家庭的反對與珍妮結(jié)婚,為此他脫離了家庭。經(jīng)過一段艱難而甜蜜的歲月,奧利弗完成了自己的碩士學(xué)業(yè)并且拿到律師執(zhí)照。但就在他剛開始執(zhí)業(yè)律師時(shí),珍妮卻身患絕癥。沒錢給妻子治病的奧利弗最終向父親開口求饒,可是珍妮還是撒手人寰離他而去......《愛情故事》對當(dāng)時(shí)的美國年輕人沖擊很大,其中經(jīng)典臺(tái)詞"Love means never having to say you are sorry"在70年代曾成為西方情侶傳頌不衰的名句。

  經(jīng)典場景

  "Love means never having to say you are sorry.(愛意味著永遠(yuǎn)不要說對不起。)"這句經(jīng)典臺(tái)詞出現(xiàn)在兩個(gè)場景中。奧利弗的爸爸要過60歲生日,給奧利弗他們也發(fā)了邀請,但奧利弗不愿意出席生日宴會(huì)。珍妮想化解他們父子間的矛盾,就代替奧利弗給他爸爸打電話,當(dāng)她說到:"Mr. Barret, Oliver would like you to know that in his own special way, he loves you very much ..."奧利弗生氣地奪過話筒,對珍妮大吼:"Get the hell out of my life."珍妮傷心地沖出家門。奧利弗冷靜下來,出去找珍妮。他找了一天,在家門口找到了。

  Jenny: I forgot my key.

  Oliver: Jenny, I am sorry.

  Jenny: Don't. Love means never having to say you are sorry.

  [珍妮在臨死前,想著的還是奧利弗。躺在病床上,她試圖安慰悲傷的愛人。]

  Jenny: Would you stop blaming yourself, you stupid god damned preppy (預(yù)備學(xué)校學(xué)生)? It's nobody's fault. It is not your fault. That is the only thing I will ask you. Otherwise, you will be OK. Would you please do something for me, honey? Would you please hold me? I mean, really hold me, next to me.

  [珍妮停止了呼吸。奧利弗滿臉悲傷,黯然走出醫(yī)院,碰到自己的父親。]

  Oliver's father: Oliver, why didn't you tell me? I made a couple of calls, and as soon as I found out, I jumped into the car. Oliver, I want to help.

  Oliver's father: I am sorry ...

  Oliver: Love ... love means never having to say you are sorry.

20世紀(jì)80年代

--代表作:《剪刀手愛德華》(Edward Scissorhands) (1990年)

  80年代電影的一大特色就是起用了很多年輕人做主角,涌現(xiàn)了一批青春偶像。這個(gè)時(shí)代很多愛情電影在題材上涉及了社會(huì)新問題,也有集科幻和童話般想象于一身的純愛情電影?!都舻妒謵鄣氯A》雖然是1990年的作品,但它的風(fēng)格絕對是繼承了80年代的真?zhèn)?,可以算?0年代的代表作。

  《剪刀手愛德華》是機(jī)器人的童話。一位發(fā)明家發(fā)明了機(jī)器人愛德華,然而沒等完工就去世了,留下殘留著一雙剪刀手的愛德華獨(dú)自在古堡生活。很多年后,中年女子佩吉誤闖城堡,好心的她把愛德華帶回家。愛德華給佩吉生活的小鎮(zhèn)增添了樂趣,他甚至用剪刀手幫大家修剪植物、設(shè)計(jì)發(fā)型。愛德華愛上了佩吉的女兒金。應(yīng)金的請求,愛德華潛入金男友父親的豪宅,不慎被警察逮捕,但為了不連累金,他沒有吐露真相。雖然最終他被無罪釋放,但從此小鎮(zhèn)上的人都把他看成危險(xiǎn)分子。不過,金逐漸看清了男友的丑惡嘴臉,而對愛德華產(chǎn)生好感。 圣誕夜,愛德華和金挑釁的男友發(fā)生沖突,誤傷了金。結(jié)果,全鎮(zhèn)居民都要求驅(qū)逐愛德華。在古堡的打斗中,愛德華殺死了金惡毒的男友,金也接受了愛德華不求回報(bào)的愛。然而這愛,除了擁抱之外,不會(huì)有其他結(jié)果。愛德華最后還是選擇永遠(yuǎn)隱藏在不為人知的角落,在那里"修剪"他的"生活"。

  愛德華第一次踏入人類的社會(huì),一切對于他來說是那么新奇。

  Peggy: So ... this is the living room and back here are the bedrooms. You want to see the pictures? All right. Well, this is my husband Bill. He's a bowling champion. Do you know what bowling is? Bowling? No, well, here, they are down at the lake, fishing. I think Kevin looks a little glum (陰郁的) because they didn't catch anything that day. And here is my daughter Kim, all dressed for junior prom (正式舞會(huì)). She's a senior now, if you can believe it. She is camping in the mountains with some friends, but she will be back in a few days. You can meet then. Isn't she beautiful?

  愛德華愛上了金。一天,他應(yīng)金的請求闖入了金男朋友家,結(jié)果被逮捕了。最終還是佩吉保釋他回家。

  Kim: Thank you for not telling them that we ...

  Edward: You are welcome.

  Kim: It must have been awful when they told you whose house it was.

  Edward: I knew it was Jim's house.

  Kim: You did?

  Edward: Yes.

  Kim: Well, then why'd you do it?

  Edward: Because you asked me to.

  多么簡單的回答,愛德華對金的愛就是這樣簡單又執(zhí)著。

20世紀(jì)90年代

--代表作:《電子情書》(You've Got Mail)(1998年)

  90年代的電影隨著科技的提高,逐漸走向了大投資和電腦高科技參與制作的道路。愛情片也受到了這些影響。90年代最轟動(dòng)的愛情片就是投資巨大、運(yùn)用電腦特效的《泰坦尼克》。這部電影大多數(shù)人都還記憶猶新,所以筆者想推薦另一代表作。它反映的是高科技背景下特有的愛情,而這種愛情是只有電腦和網(wǎng)絡(luò)相對普及的90年代才會(huì)有的,那就是《電子情書》。

  喬·??怂购蛣P瑟琳·凱莉在網(wǎng)絡(luò)聊天室相識(shí),兩人漸漸產(chǎn)生了愛情。??怂箷鴺I(yè)的最新連鎖店開張了,離凱瑟琳的小書店僅幾街區(qū)之遙。激烈的競爭使得凱瑟琳的小店面臨倒閉。凱瑟琳的書店是由母親那一代繼承下來的,看到40多年來的心血即將毀滅,凱瑟琳生氣地把??怂沟睦习?-喬當(dāng)做仇人,并且把這些都傾訴給網(wǎng)上的知己。意外獲悉知己女友就是凱瑟琳令喬越發(fā)為她所吸引。一番波折后兩個(gè)人最終走到了一起。

  經(jīng)典場景

  喬在真實(shí)身份被揭穿后,用誠意打動(dòng)了凱瑟琳,兩人做了朋友。但是凱瑟琳仍然有"書店關(guān)門"的心結(jié),不能正視兩人的感情。在一次朋友聚會(huì)道別時(shí),喬說出了心里話。

  Joe: You know sometimes I wonder.

  Catharine: what?

  Joe: Well, if I hadn't been Fox Books and you hadn't been the Shop Around the Corner ... and you and I had just, met.

  Catharine: I know.

  Joe: I would have asked for your number. And I wouldn't have been able to wait 24 hours before calling up and saying: Hey, how about some coffee, you know, drinks or dinner or a movie for as long as we both shall live?

  Catharine: Joe.

  Joe: And you and I would never have been at war. The only thing we'd fight about would be which video to rent on a Saturday night.

  Catharine: Who fights about that?

  Joe: Some people, not us.

  Catharine: We would never.

  Joe: If only.

  Catharine: I've got to go.

  Joe: Let me ask you something. How can you forgive this guy for standing you up and not forgive me for this tiny little thing that putting you out of business? How I wish you would!

  Catharine: I really have to go.
