[ti:未知] [ar:] [al:] [by:] [00:01.87]知行英語(yǔ) [00:25.05]The house on the mango street [00:29.53]芒果街上的小屋 [00:37.50]When I was in a Creative Writing class, [00:40.74]we wrote many vignettes [00:43.52]and if you are a student in Creative Writing [00:46.95]you have to get this book [00:49.51]and share it with your class and teacher. [00:53.30]It will help you understand [00:55.11]the importance of writing free verses, [00:58.44]for this is the best example of vignettes I have ever seen. [01:04.14]The voice of the author does not sound professional [01:07.70]or too fancy, [01:09.53]but like the ordinary words people say today. [01:13.67]it is a story of our time and a tale for all. [01:19.65]My only complaint is that it was too short! [01:23.91]I wanted to know more [01:26.00]about what Esperanza does and her wishes. [01:30.81]I also wanted to know what happened to her after the story. [01:38.19]講解 [02:21.87]Even so, it is pretty plain to see that Esperanza [02:26.89]learned how to escape from her cruel world, [02:31.18]unlike the people who never knew where she went. [02:36.51]I haven't seen such an exquisite story of our modern times [02:41.17]since I read the "Joy Luck Club" about two years ago. [02:46.46]If you want to read a beautiful story about growing up, [02:51.47]living life, and with musical poetry, [02:55.13]you must read this book. [03:00.98]講解 [03:30.66]Great Books by Women ( Jesse Larsen) [03:41.79]Esperanza and her family [03:44.21]didn't always live on Mango Street. [03:47.66]Right off she says [03:50.10]she can't remember all the houses they've lived in [03:54.30]but "the house on Mango Street is ours [03:58.47]and we don't have to pay rent to anybody, [04:02.57]or share the yard with the people downstairs, [04:07.18]or be careful not to make too much noise, [04:11.33]and there isn't a landlord [04:13.96]banging on the ceiling with a broom. [04:17.11]But even so, it's not the house we thought we'd get." [04:24.02]講解 [04:52.90]Esperanza's childhood life [04:55.82]in a Spanish-speaking area of Chicago [04:59.29]is described in a series of spare, poignant, [05:03.38]and powerful vignettes. [05:06.07]Each story centers on a detail of her childhood: [05:10.69]a greasy cold rice sandwich, [05:13.51]a pregnant friend, a mean boy, [05:17.21]how the clouds looked one time, [05:20.28]something she heard a drunk say, [05:23.35]her fear of nuns: [05:25.57]"I always cry when nuns yell at me, [05:29.97]even if they're not yelling." [05:34.11]Esperanza's friends, family, [05:36.87]and neighbors wander in and out of her stories; [05:41.52]through them all Esperanza sees, [05:45.11]learns, loves, and dreams of the house [05:49.04]she will someday have, her own house, [05:52.41]not on Mango Street. [05:56.49]講解 [06:41.10]A poetic story of growing up Latino(Michael J. Mazza) [06:55.48]"The House on Mango Street," by Sandra Cisneros, [07:00.28]is told in the first person by Esperanza, [07:04.21]a daughter in an urban Latino family. [07:07.81]The "About the Author" section [07:10.62]at the end of the book notes that Cisneros [07:14.60]was born in Chicago, [07:16.67]the daughter of a Mexican father [07:19.05]and a Mexican-American mother. [07:22.01]Cisneros tells Esperanza's story [07:25.34]in a series of 44 short vignettes. [07:30.46]講解 [07:56.35]Cisneros' writing is really beautiful [07:59.62]full of wonderfully vivid imagery. [08:03.34]Many of the short chapters [08:05.58]are less than a full page in length [08:08.75]and read like prose poems. [08:12.34]Along the way we learn of Esperanza's family, [08:16.44]neighbors, school, rites of passage, [08:20.38]and dreams of the future. [08:22.61]Cisneros writes with a moving appreciation of beauty, [08:27.17]hope, and tragedy; [08:29.68]"Mango Street" is a richly realized world. [09:07.72]出版社:譯林出版社 [09:08.71]出版日期:2006-6-1 [09:13.18]知行提示
