Dear Prof. Smith,

How are you? I often remember the good days we had in your class last semester. You are a terrific teacher and I am lucky to have been your student.

I am currently taking an intensive course in English at Harvard University. Although the course is not as interesting as your class, I think it will prepare me for my college study that starts in September. In addition to studying during the summer holiday, I have also had many chances to travel around the U.S. So far, I have been to Boston, New York and Washington D.C. I hope to make it to San Francisco, Los Angeles and Chicago next year.
