俗話說,“滿招損,謙受益”( Pride goes before a fall. )。謙虛絕非虛偽,低調(diào)不是自卑。難怪英國文學(xué)評論家艾迪生說,“謙遜不僅可以增添光彩,也可以維護(hù)美德”( Modesty is not only an ornament, but also a guard to virtue. )。 而法國小說家勒納爾則大聲疾呼道,“謙遜吧!它是一種最不能冒犯別人的驕傲”( Be modest! It is the kind of pride least likely to offend. )。
