Anchor: Good evening! I'm Julia Cosby and welcome to 6: 30 News. Tonight we have an exclusive on the Barclay Bank robbery in our usually quiet town. Our ace11 reporter John was on the scene.
John: (puzzled) Er... I was?
Anchor: He bravely caught the robbers on tape as they were making their getaway. With the incriminating footage, the police should have no problem catching the bad guys. This is Julia Cosby from 6: 30 News wishing you a good evening.
Mrs. Smith: Congratulations, my boy! I'm so proud of you. But tell me, John, how did you get so thrilling a story?
John: Being a good reporter is all about being in the right place at the right time. Well, to tell you the truth, I forgot to turn off my camera when I put it on the bench in front of the bank.
Exercise: Turn the three mini-dialogues into ONE descriptive narrative. Use only indirect speech.
