B:
Mark...To us, it was one of a thousand looks we'd given each other since this whole thing began. And listen, it's not fair to paint Jim as the wimpy one and me as some kind of saint. You saw the guy, he was Mr. Positive the whole time. That might be easy when you're out to dinner and your wife's being charming. But you didn't get to see the days when I was a whiney baby, or totally grouchy, and he was still great. Now, that's an accomplishment. It's important you get that in, Mag. I want Jim to get his due.
Jessie: Okay.
Mark: And one more thing---
Jessie: Oh, come on, this isn't fair---
Mark: One more thing. I was jealous of you.
Jessie: ...You were?
Mark: Yes. But not for the reason you think. I was jealous of you because you were healthy, because you had your whole life ahead of you.
Jessie: No. Really?
Mark: Yes! Of course, yes. Do you have any idea of the guilt that a sick person carries around, knowing that they're ruining the lives of everyone they love? The whole experience is one big drag, but the guilt thing is definitely one of the highlights. (pause.) Okay, I'm done. Carry on.
