Later, after king Wu had succeeded, Bian he once again presented this treasure to the new king. But it was once again judged to be a piece of ordinary stone. And then Bian He's right let was cut off.
Hearing the news of King Wen succession, Bian He, holding that piece of stone, cried for three days until he bleed and his tears dried up. When this new was spread, King Wen sent people to investigate the reason. Bian He said, "I feel so grieved(傷心的) that beautiful jade is mistaken for stone, and a magnanimous(寬宏大量的) gentleman for trickster(騙子). "
After hearing this, the king had the craftsman open the stone and really found a piece of flawless jade in it. So the king named this invaluable jade "Heshibi".
楚人卞和獻(xiàn)給楚厲王一塊含有寶玉的石頭,宮廷里的玉匠鑒別后說是塊石頭,厲王認(rèn)為卞和欺騙了自己,下令砍去卞和的左腳。
后來武王即位,卞和再去獻(xiàn)寶,又被鑒定為石頭,卞和的右腳也被砍掉。
文王繼位的消息傳來后,卞和抱著那塊玉石痛哭了三天三夜,直哭的眼淚干枯,鮮血迸出。事情傳開后,文王派人去詢問原因,卞和說:“我是心痛美玉被當(dāng)成頑石,坦蕩君子被視為騙子。”
文王聽后,叫玉匠剖開石頭,果然得到一塊無暇美玉,于是將這塊價(jià)值連城的寶玉命名為“和氏之璧”。
