The term "get an inbox" is derived from the expression "get a room." When couples constantly leave romantic, mushy or suggestive messages on each other's Facebook wall for everyone else to see, someone else may tell them to "get an inbox already" and carry on in private.

Get an inbox這個(gè)說(shuō)法是由短語(yǔ)get a room衍生而來(lái)的（get a room什么意思我們稍后再說(shuō)）。假設(shè)你社交網(wǎng)站的朋友圈里有兩人是一對(duì)兒，他們成天在對(duì)方的微博、朋友圈里留下各種浪漫、肉麻，或者頗具暗示意味的信息，而這些留言圈里的朋友都能看到。于是，有人就會(huì)給他們留言說(shuō)“你們還是私聊吧”，這樣在私密的空間里，他們就可以繼續(xù)肉麻聊天了。
