韋伯太空望遠(yuǎn)鏡拍攝的首張全彩色照片公布

NASA on Tuesday showcased the first full-color images captured by the James Webb Space Telescope.

Taken by the telescope’s Near-Infrared Camera, the image – dubbed Webb's First Deep Field – captured thousands of galaxies in sharp detail.
這張照片名為“韋布的首次深空”，是韋伯望遠(yuǎn)鏡拍攝到迄今為止最深的宇宙紅外圖像。

The image showcases the galaxy cluster SMACS 0723 as it appeared 4.6 billion years ago, according to NASA.
NASA表示，照片內(nèi)容為星系團(tuán)SMACS 0723，包含了數(shù)千個(gè)星系，距離地球46億光年。

The $10 billion project is the world's largest and most powerful space observatory ever built.
詹姆斯•韋伯天空望遠(yuǎn)鏡造價(jià)100億美元，是NASA迄今建造的最大、功能最強(qiáng)的空間望遠(yuǎn)鏡。

The telescope was launched into space last December from Europe's Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.
該望遠(yuǎn)鏡去年12月從位于法屬圭亞那庫(kù)魯?shù)臍W洲宇航中心發(fā)射升空。
