牛津大學(xué)首家海外研究院落戶蘇州

The University of Oxford last Thursday launched its first overseas center for physical science and engineering research, in east China's Jiangsu Province.

上周四，牛津大學(xué)第一家海外物理學(xué)和工程學(xué)研究中心落地位于華東的江蘇省。

The Oxford-Suzhou Centre for Advanced Research(OSCAR) opened in the Suzhou Industrial Park in Suzhou City.

牛津大學(xué)蘇州高等研究院在江蘇省的蘇州工業(yè)園區(qū)正式揭牌。

The center was established initially with a grant from the park, according to Oxford University website.

據(jù)牛津大學(xué)官網(wǎng)介紹，該中心最初是由蘇州工業(yè)園捐款建立。

Initial research programs will be led by groups from the Oxford departments of Engineering, Physics, Chemistry and Materials, with applications ranging from health informatics, tissue engineering and biomedical imaging techniques to environmental remediation, advanced materials and electronic devices.

研究院第一階段的研究項(xiàng)目聚焦醫(yī)療健康、組織工程、生物醫(yī)學(xué)成像技術(shù)、環(huán)境修復(fù)、先進(jìn)材料和電子設(shè)備等，由牛津大學(xué)工程系、物理系、化學(xué)系和材料系的團(tuán)隊(duì)主導(dǎo)。

A total of 12 scholars from Oxford have been chosen to lead projects at the center. The scholars will work in Suzhou for two months every year.

12位牛津大學(xué)學(xué)者被挑選來在該研究中心領(lǐng)導(dǎo)項(xiàng)目。這些學(xué)者每年將在蘇州進(jìn)行至少兩個(gè)月的監(jiān)督研究工作。

Oxford vice-chancellor Louise Richardson said that cooperation with China provided an exciting opportunity, and that she looked forward to more achievements in innovative and new areas.
