韓國(guó)稱特朗普將不晚于今年5月會(huì)晤金正恩

US president Donald Trump has agreed to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un by May after the latter extended an invitation and offered to suspend nuclear and missile tests, following months of tension between the two countries.

在朝鮮領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人金正恩(Kim Jong Un)發(fā)出會(huì)面邀請(qǐng)并提出要暫停核及導(dǎo)彈試驗(yàn)后，美國(guó)總統(tǒng)唐納德•特朗普(Donald Trump)已同意不晚于今年5月與金正恩會(huì)晤。數(shù)月來(lái)，美朝關(guān)系一直陷入緊張。

The surprise announcement came from Chung Eui-yong, South Korea’s national security director, on White House grounds following high-level talks.

這一出人意料的聲明是由韓國(guó)國(guó)家安全室室長(zhǎng)鄭義溶(Chung Eui-yong)在白宮進(jìn)行完高級(jí)別會(huì)談后宣布的。

“President Trump officiated the briefing and said he would meet Kim by May to achieve permanent denuclearisation,” Mr Chung told reporters outside the White House.

“特朗普總統(tǒng)主持了吹風(fēng)會(huì)，并表示將不晚于5月會(huì)晤金正恩，以實(shí)現(xiàn)永久去核，”鄭義溶在白宮外對(duì)記者們說(shuō)。

The announcement marks a breakthrough in communications after the two leaders have traded threats of nuclear war over twitter and television for months.

這一聲明標(biāo)志著美朝兩國(guó)在溝通上的突破。此前數(shù)月，這兩個(gè)國(guó)家的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人一直通過(guò)Twitter或電視向?qū)Ψ桨l(fā)出核戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)威脅。

But while senior US officials have welcomed the potential opening with polite caution in public, they remain deeply sceptical about the prospects for any deal.

“In terms of direct talks with the United States ... we’re a long ways from negotiations,” US secretary of state Rex Tillerson said earlier on the Thursday from Addis Ababa, in the midst of his Africa tour.
