Universities are taking various measures to warn new entrants about telecom fraud following a recent tragedy in which a college-bound student died after being cheated out of tuition fees which her family had spent months raising.
最近,一名即將踏入大學的學生被騙光積攢數(shù)月的學費后猝死,這一悲劇事件發(fā)生后,高校紛紛采取措施提醒入學新生謹防電信詐騙。
All entrants to universities and colleges in Jiangsu province will have to pass a safety examination, with 60 percent of the content related to telecom fraud. Students who score less than 80 on the test will have to be reexamined, according to Yangzi Evening News.
據(jù)《揚子晚報》報道,江蘇省新入學的大學生都要參加安全考試,其中有60%的題目都跟電信詐騙有關??疾贿^80分的學生都要重考。
電信詐騙(telecom fraud)指犯罪分子通過電話和短信方式,編造虛假信息,設置騙局,對受害人實施遠程、非接觸式詐騙,誘使受害人給犯罪分子打款或轉(zhuǎn)賬的犯罪行為。
Scam和fraud兩個詞都表示“詐騙、欺騙”,從具體用法來說,scam多指以詐財或逃稅為目的設的騙局,比如recruitment scam(招聘詐騙),auction scam (拍賣詐騙)等;fraud則多指個人通過謊言或欺騙手段獲取金錢收益的行為,如credit card fraud(信用卡詐騙),internet fraud(網(wǎng)絡詐騙)等。
除了讓學生參加安全知識考試以外,有高校還為學生發(fā)放《大學新生安全手冊》(a handbook on safety for new entrants),普及防詐騙知識(anti-fraud measures)和P2P借貸相關知識(information on peer-to-peer lending);還有高校在校園里懸掛反詐騙橫幅和海報(anti-fraud banners and posters),邀請當?shù)毓裁窬M校園開展安全教育講座(give safety lectures),以及在微信公眾平臺開設防詐騙專欄(set up a special column to promote anti-fraud awareness)等。
