consult, negotiate, confer

 

這些動詞均含“協(xié)商、商量”之意。

 

consult : 多指向權威或有識之士請教或咨詢。

 

They consulted long, but could not decide.(他們磋商了很久, 但是不能做出決定。)

 

negotiate : 正式用詞，指雙方通過爭論或討論最后達成協(xié)議等;也指通過商議從而解決問題。

 

We've decided to negotiate a loan with them.(我們決定和他們商定貸款之事。)

confer : 正式用詞，強調對觀點或意見的交換。
