301 man, person, people和the people
1 man 指成年男子，男士，復數(shù)形式為men，對應的是woman （復數(shù)為women）。
The man under the tree is his father. 樹下的那個人是他父親。
提示
①man也泛指“人”。
The job is easy and any man can do it. 這工作很容易，任何人都能做。
②man也可指“人類”。
Man cannot live without water. 沒有水人類無法生存。
2 person 意為“人”，包括男人、女人和小孩，最普通說法。
He is an important person . 他是一個重要人物。
Three persons saw it. 3個人看見了它。
3 people 意為“人，人們”，為復數(shù)形式，不能指一個人，作主語時謂語動詞用復數(shù)，可用two, some, many, a lot of等修飾。
Many people come to the park on Sundays. 星期天許多人到這個公園里來。
What will other people say？別人會說什么呢？
Most people think so. 大多數(shù)人都這樣想。
There were ten people present. 有10個人出席。
4 people 作“民族”解時，為可數(shù)名詞，“一個民族”要說a people ，“多個民族”要用peoples 。
The Chinese is a great people . 中華民族是一個偉大的民族。
The peoples of the world love peace. 世界各國人民都熱愛和平。
5 the people 意為“人民”。
She died for the people . 她為人民犧牲了。
