279　examination, quiz和test都有“考試”的意思

1　examination 的縮寫形式為exam ，意為“考試，測(cè)試，檢查”，常指比較正式的學(xué)期或升學(xué)考試，也可指臨時(shí)性考試。

She passed the mid-term exam . 她期中考試及格。

He failed in the exam . 他考試不及格。

He took the entrance examination for high school last week. 他上周參加了高中入學(xué)考試。

We had a physical examination yesterday. 我們昨天進(jìn)行了體檢。

2　quiz 意為“測(cè)驗(yàn)，小考”，一般指隨時(shí)進(jìn)行的簡(jiǎn)單測(cè)驗(yàn)，口頭或書面皆可。

The English teacher gave us a ten-minute quiz.英語老師對(duì)我們進(jìn)行了10分鐘的測(cè)驗(yàn)。

We had a quiz in maths this morning. 我們今天上午進(jìn)行了數(shù)學(xué)小測(cè)驗(yàn)。
