1　different 意為“不同的”，可與單數(shù)名詞或不可數(shù)名詞連用。

My plan is different from hers. 我的計劃同她的不同。

It is a different car from the one I drove the other day. 這輛車和我前幾天開的那一輛不同。

2　various 意為“各種各樣的，不同的”，強調(diào)種類多，后跟復數(shù)名詞。

There are various ways of doing it. 做這件事有各種不同的方法。

Various people said they had seen the accident. 許多人說他們目擊了這次事故。
