43　over, on和above

1　over 表示“翻越，越過（一個高的物體）”，“穿過（大街或路）”。

He can jump over the wall. 他能夠跳過那堵墻。

She walked over the street. 她走過大街。（相當于walk across）

2　over 表示“到處，遍及”。

They come from all over the world. 他們來自世界各地。

There is water all over the road. 路上到處都是水。

3　over 表示“蓋著，覆蓋”。

She put a piece of paper over the photo. 她用一張紙把那張照片蓋起來。

She put her hands over her eyes. 她用手遮住雙眼。

4　over 表示“在……上方，在……上面”，表示垂直在上，在正上方，與under 相對。

The sky is over our heads. 天空在我們的頭上。

There is a bridge over the river. 河上有一座橋。

5　over 表示“多于，超過”。

She has stayed here for over two months. 她在這里待兩個多月了。

The temperature is over/above 20 degrees centigrade. 氣溫在20℃以上。

6　on 指物體在表面上，與該物體接觸。

There is a lamp on the desk. 書桌上有一個臺燈。

7　above 表示“在……上”，可能垂直在上，也可能不垂直在上，指的是上下的位置，與below 相對。

A plane is flying above the mountain. 有一架飛機在山的上方飛。

She saw the moon above the hill. 她看見月亮在小山的上方。

提示

不表示“正上方”時，不可用over。下面的句中只能用above，不用over。

She is above telling a lie. 她不屑說謊。

I heard a cry from above . 我聽見叫喊聲從上方傳來。
