問(wèn)候語(yǔ)“你吃了嗎?”是一種寒暄，

不是真的要問(wèn)你吃飯了沒(méi)有。

In China, this is used as a greeting.

It’s not really a question.

氣 候 Climate

The climate is different in China.

青島的夏天比起英國(guó)更潮濕;冬天更干燥。

In the summer, Qingdao is very humid compared with my hometown.

In the winter, it’s very dry.

上海和香港也非常悶熱和潮濕。

Shanghai and Hong Kong are very hot and humid cities.

在青島，冬天會(huì)感覺(jué)到有靜電。(在英國(guó)，夏天會(huì)感覺(jué)有靜電。)

In the winter, I sometimes experience static shock.

有人說(shuō)在英國(guó)，一天可以感受一年四季的變化。

Some people say that when living in the UK it’s possible to experience 4 seasons in a single day.

過(guò)馬路Crossing the road

對(duì)于Peter老師來(lái)說(shuō)，剛來(lái)中國(guó)的時(shí)候，過(guò)馬路是遇到的最大的困難。

Crossing the road was very difficult for me at the beginning.

In the UK we are taught to look right, left, right.

飲食文化Food Culture

在中國(guó)，飲食文化是一種社交文化。

The food culture is different.

In China, eating out is a social experience.

如果你邀請(qǐng)別人出去吃飯，你買(mǎi)單。

If you invite someone out for dinner, you should pay.

家 庭Family

中國(guó)的家庭成員之間更加緊密，彼此會(huì)犧牲更多。

Chinese families are tighter and closer, they sacrifice more.

在西方國(guó)家，孩子們會(huì)較早地離開(kāi)父母獨(dú)立生活，父母住在養(yǎng)老院(但并不是唯一或第一的選擇)。In western countries, children fly the nest earlier and the parents live in care homes.

The first time I used a public toilet in China was a big shock.
