從名詞角度來看,對(duì)于名詞與冠詞的使用,以下幾條是核心:
(1)單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞
單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞不能單獨(dú)使用,必須與冠詞或其他限定詞連用。
我們可以說: the boy, a boy, his boy, the woman's boy, a clever boy
但一般不說:boy
I really need a new computer.
(2)復(fù)數(shù)名詞和不可數(shù)名詞
對(duì)于復(fù)數(shù)名詞和不可數(shù)名詞,以下兩點(diǎn)須掌握:
1)不能與不定冠詞a(n)連用。
不能說:a bread* an information* a ships* an oranges*
2)復(fù)數(shù)名詞或不可數(shù)名詞在表示泛指時(shí),不可用the。復(fù)數(shù)名詞或不可數(shù)名詞在表示特指時(shí),要用the。
a. Life is hard sometimes.
(泛指)生活有時(shí)會(huì)很艱難。不說:The life is hard sometimes.*
b. Life is education in itself.?。ǚ褐福┥畋旧砭褪墙逃?。
c. The writer is writing a book about the life of blacks in America.
(特指)這位作家正在寫一本關(guān)于美國黑人生活的書。
d. I love music, poetry and art.?。ǚ褐敢磺幸魳贰⒃姼杓八囆g(shù))
不說:I love the music, the poetry and the art.*
e. I don't like the film, but I like the music (of the film).
(特指這部電影的音樂)
f. Air is a colorless and tasteless gas. 空氣是一種無色無味的氣體。
g. The air in this room is stuffy. Please open the windows.
這房間里空氣不好,請(qǐng)把窗戶打開。
h. Books become more and more expensive.?。ǚ褐敢磺袝荚跐q價(jià))
i. Put away the books on your desk.
(特指)把你書桌上的那些書都擺整齊了。
j. Pencils contain lead. 鉛筆里含有鉛。
k. Who put the pencils on the table? 誰把鉛筆放在桌上的?
l. Sugar isn't very good for you. 糖對(duì)你不太有好處。
m. Can you pass me the sugar, please? 請(qǐng)把糖遞給我好嗎?
請(qǐng)注意,表示特指的復(fù)數(shù)可數(shù)名詞或不可數(shù)名詞,一般帶有各種短語或從句作后置定語,以限定這些名詞所指的事物范圍。如上句中的on your desk, of blacks in America, in this room。
