1. 非限制性定語從句總是用逗號與主句隔開。
They have four children, all of whom are now at school.
他們有四個孩子，現(xiàn)在都在上學(xué)。
2. 引導(dǎo)非限制性定語從句的關(guān)系代詞無論是否在從句中作賓語都不能省略。
Yesterday I met Jack, whom his parents were looking for at that time.
昨天我見到了杰克，當(dāng)時他父母正在找他呢。
3. 用both/some/each/most/all/several/many/a few/ten of + whom/which引導(dǎo)非限制性定語從句用which指物，用whom指人。
Her parents, both of whom work in Beijing, ring her up every week.
他父母每周都給他打電話，兩人都在北京工作。
The house was full of desks, several of which were made of stone.
這間房子里全是課桌，好幾張都是石頭做的。
4. 注意逗號與and的不同功能。and連接的是并列句，需用人稱代詞；僅有逗號沒有并列連詞時用關(guān)系代詞引導(dǎo)非限制性定語從句。
This is our school, in front of which lies a road.
這就是我們學(xué)校，前面有一條路。
This is our school, and in front of it lies a road.
這就是我們學(xué)校，它前面有條路。
5. 非限制性定語從句在意義上相當(dāng)于一個并列句。
I told the story to John, who later did it to his brother.
I told The story to John,and he later told it to his brother.
我把那個故事告訴了約翰，他后來把故事告訴了他的弟弟。
The next day John went with me to the station, where I bought a ticket for Beijing.
The next day John went with me to The station,and there I bought a ticket for Beijing.
第二天約翰和我一起去了火車站，在那里買了去北京的車票。
6. 非限制性定語從句有時相當(dāng)于一個狀語從句，表示原因、目的、結(jié)果、條件或讓步意義。
He is clever and quick at his work, for which he is honoured with the title of model worker .

他工作很聰明很快捷，因此他被授予模范工人的稱號。
