A man married a beautiful girl.
He loved her very much.
一個(gè)男人娶了一個(gè)漂亮女孩，
他非常愛(ài)她。

One day she developed a skin disease.
Slowly she started to lose her beauty.
突然她得了一種皮膚病，
慢慢地開(kāi)始失去美貌。

It so happened
that one day her husband left for a tour.
While returning he met with an accident
and lost his eyesight.
碰巧有一天她丈夫去旅行，
回來(lái)的路上他遭遇車禍?zhǔn)髁恕?br />
However their married life
continued as usual.
But as days passed
she lost her beauty gradually.
然而他們的婚姻生活照舊，
但隨著時(shí)間的流逝她越來(lái)越丑。

Blind husband did not know this
and there was not any difference
in their married life.
失明的丈夫并不知情，
他們的婚姻也沒(méi)有任何變化。

He continued to love her
and she also loved him very much.
他依然愛(ài)她，
她也非常愛(ài)他。

One day she died.
Her death brought him great sorrow.
一天她還是離開(kāi)了，
她的離世給他很大傷痛。

He finished all her last rites
and wanted to leave that town.
他處理好一切后事，
想要離開(kāi)那個(gè)城鎮(zhèn)。

A man from behind called and said,
now how will you be able to walk all alone?
All these days your wife used to help you.
He replied, I am not blind.
后面有人叫住他說(shuō)：
“現(xiàn)在你自己怎么過(guò)?
以往都是妻子照顧你的?！?br />他回答說(shuō)：“我沒(méi)有失明。”

I was acting,
because if she knew
l could see her ugliness
it would have pained her
more than her disease.
我是裝的，
因?yàn)槿绻牢夷芸吹剿某?br />給她帶來(lái)的痛苦，
比疾病本身更讓她難以承受。

So I pretended to be blind.
She was a very good wife.
I only wanted to keep her happy.
所以我假裝失明，
她是個(gè)好妻子，
我只想讓她開(kāi)心。

Moral:
Some times it is good for us
to act blind and
ignore one another's short comings,
in order to be happy.
寓意：
有時(shí)為了開(kāi)心，
我們假裝
看不見(jiàn)別人的短處也挺好。

No matter how many times
the teeth bite the tongue,
they still stay together in one mouth.
That's the spirit of FORGIVENESS.
無(wú)論牙齒咬了舌頭多少次，
它們依然待在一個(gè)嘴里，
這就是“天長(zhǎng)地久”的真正含義。
