笑話原文】

Change

A professor was giving a big test one day to his students. He handed out all of the tests and went back to his desk to wait.

Once the test was over, the students all handed the tests back in. The professor noticed that one of the students had attached a $100 bill to his test with a note saying “A dollar per point.”

In the next class the professor handed the tests back out. This student got back his test and $64 change.

一天，有一位教授給他的學生們準備了一個大測驗。把卷子發(fā)完后，他回到他的桌子邊等著。

考試一結束，學生們都把卷子交了上來。教授注意到，有一個學生在試卷上附了一張100美元的鈔票，還有一張便條寫著“一分一美元”。

下一節(jié)課的時候教授又把卷子發(fā)了下去。那個學生也拿到了他的卷子，以及64美元零錢。

詞匯講解】

1.test測驗/卷子。在文中“A professor was giving a big test one day to his students.”的test是“測驗”的意思。而“He handed out all of the tests and went back to his desk to wait.”中的test則是“試卷”的意思。

2. hand out分發(fā)，給予。I don’t need you handing me out that sort of advice!我不需要你給我那種勸告。He was said to like handing out.據說他樂善好施。這個短語還有“攙扶”的意思：hand sb. out of the bus扶某人下公共汽車。 連起來的handout的意思有：施舍物、傳單、新聞通報、聲明等。
