A man and his wife entered the dentist's office. The man said, "I want a tooth pulled. We're in a big hurry, so forget about any pain killers.

The dentist said，"You're very brave. Which tooth is it?" The man said to his wife, "Show him your bad tooth, honey.

Notes:

1.A man and his wife entered the dentist's officc. 一個(gè)男人和他妻子進(jìn)入一家牙醫(yī)診所。

office 一般指辦公室，但它也可表示公司、事務(wù)所、診所 (clinic)、醫(yī)務(wù)室(infirmary)等。

2.The roan said, "I want a tooth pulled."

這個(gè)男人說(shuō)：“我想要拔牙。”

句中的“pulled”也可替換成extracted或taken out。“I want (to have) a tooth pulled”這個(gè)句子省略了 to have。“have +名詞或代詞十過(guò)去分詞”表示“請(qǐng)人把人或物…' 如：She had her hair penned.她燙了頭發(fā)。

3.We're in a big hurry, so orget about any pain killers.

我們時(shí)間很緊，所以就不用止痛要了。

4.The dentist said, "You're very brave."

這牙醫(yī)說(shuō)：“你很勇敢。”

5.Which tooth is it?

是哪顆牙?

6. The man said to his wife, "Show him your bad tooth, honey."

這個(gè)男人對(duì)他的妻子說(shuō)："親愛(ài)的，給他看你的蛀牙。”

所謂的bad tooth可能會(huì)有四種情形：①齲齒(cavity), ②牙齒的琺瑯質(zhì)(enamel)被腐蝕(decay),③牙齦(gums)生病，④牙齒松動(dòng)(loose)。
