Lucy says when she gets close to her stop, she presses "the button to signal to the driver that" she needs "to get off." 露西說，快到她下車那一站時，她按下“按鈕，向司機(jī)示意”她要“下車”。

To signal, "signal," means to indicate - to tell the driver that she needs to get off. 示意(signal)，意味著表明——告訴司機(jī)，她需要下車。

In many American buses, there's a button or sometimes there's a string that you pull, and it makes a noise in the front of the bus, and that allows the bus driver to know that you want to get off. 許多美國公共汽車都有一個按鈕，或者有時是一根用來拉的繩子，它可以在公共汽車的前部發(fā)出聲音，讓司機(jī)知道你想下車。

Remember, a stop is anywhere the bus goes to pick up or let out people. 記住，任何乘客上下車的地方，都是公交車站。

To pull up (two words) means to drive up - to go to. 停到(pull up)意思是開車趕到——去到。

We use that verb especially when we are talking about cars or buses. 談?wù)撈嚮蚬财嚂r，我們會用到這個動詞。

Your car can pull up to the house; that means it drives up to the street where your house is and it stops. 你可以把車停到房子旁;這意味著車會開到你的房子所在的街道，然后停下來。

The idea of pulling up usually means go forward and then stop. “停到”的意思通常是向前走，然后停下來。
