◎ dozen意為“12，一打”，score意為“20”。

① 前有數(shù)詞修飾，表示確定數(shù)，或同many，several，some（大約）連用時(shí)，這兩個(gè)詞均用單數(shù)形式，不加s。

These eggs are five yuan a dozen. 這些雞蛋一打5元錢。

It happened four score years ago. 那件事發(fā)生在80年前。

She bought several dozen of these ball-pens. 她買了好幾打這樣的圓珠筆。（ball-pens前有these修飾，同dozen之間要用of）

Some dozen（of）people heard the strange sound. 大約12個(gè)人聽(tīng)到了那個(gè)奇怪的聲音。

② 若前無(wú)數(shù)詞修飾，表示大概數(shù)時(shí)，要用復(fù)數(shù)形式。dozens of和scores of表示“幾十個(gè)，許多”。

Dozens of trees have been cut down there. 那里砍掉了幾十棵樹(shù)。

Scores of people came to the meeting. 幾十個(gè)人來(lái)參加了會(huì)議。
