You may have heard about Amazon’s Jeff Bezos’s plans to create a drone delivery service called “Air Prime.” With Air Prime, products would be delivered to your house within 30 minutes by drone.
Though the idea is just in the planning stages, there has been a lot of criticism. But perhaps the town of Deertrail, Colorado has had the most extreme reaction to it. The town is about to vote on an ordinance that will allow drone hunting. You heard it right! If the ordinance is passed, it will be legal to shoot down drones in Deertrail. All you will need is a $25 drone-hunting license from the city. Moreover, if you bring back pieces of the dead drone you can get a bounty of up to $100.
The ordinance was the idea of Deertrail resident, Philip Steel. He is a very vocal critic of the use of drones. He is using it as way to bring attention to the problem.
The ordinance will be decided next week.
